On the road, bicycles, motorcycles, scooters, motorized personal transport devices and pedestrians a re smaller and less visible than cars to drivers of heavy vehicles, and can therefore easily find th emselves out of their field of vision, in their blind spots. Vulnerable road users are often unaware of the extent of these areas, and they are the cause of serious, sometimes fatal, accidents.
