Description
Cyanolit is a one-component, fast-setting cyanoacrylate adhesive, based on ethyl-methyl or alkyl, depending on the type. Cyanolit allows to assemble efficiently all plastic materials (except PTFE), metals, rubbers. Cyanolit polymerizes at room temperature by absorbing humidity present in the air and on the parts, which makes it an adhesive that holds well to temperature variations and thermal shocks. Cyanolit is a 100% reactive, solvent-free, non-toxic adhesive. Cyanolit is also highly resistant to mechanical shock and is recommended for bonding small to medium sized surfaces.
Strongly acidic surfaces may prevent the esters from curing. Strongly alkaline surfaces (pH > 10) lead to a weakened bond, a relative humidity of 50-60% allows an optimized polymerization.
In general, for adhesion properties, the surface tension and polarity of the materials is crucial. Proper surface preparation is a key factor in optimizing the performance of an adhesive. The surfaces to be bonded must be clean, dry and free of grease.
